Corona makes trade associations more relevant than ever!

It is precisely in times of crisis that the added value of a sector association comes to the fore. As the mouthpiece for their members, they fight in The Hague to obtain flexibilisation and suitable support measures. The ability to quickly and effectively make choices based on the voice of the sector is crucial in this regard.

INretail is one of those trade organisations that has been lobbying intensively for the past two years to guide the non-food retail sector through the corona crisis. INretail advocates relaxation and reopening, but also appropriate support measures for the sector, such as an adjustment to the stock compensation scheme. To strengthen its lobby, INretail regularly conducts quick polls  among its members via Abbi. Shortly before, or after, a press conference, members are asked which themes require attention and these are translated into a short chat questionnaire. Members then receive an SMS text message urging them to make their voices heard and within a few hours INretail has insight into the opinions of hundreds of members. A powerful and very up-to-date foundation for their lobby and the confirmation that they are really focusing on what the industry needs.

But even apart from Corona, as a trade association you want to be able to respond quickly and effectively to the needs of your members. After all, listening to and activating members largely determines their right to exist. Abbi therefore offers trade associations the possibility of entering into a low-threshold and action-oriented dialogue, so that members feel that their voice really matters.
